• The VIEWFINDER is made of transparent plastic with a rectangular grid which will guide the placing of any key element in a drawing.
• It is a boon for painting in the open air because it is robust enough to carry in your pocket or bag. Use it to select a scene which matches the proportions of your paper. Full instructions for this simple procedure are in the instruction sheet.
• Improve accuracy of drawing. Look at the chosen scene through the grid to select a few key points and transfer them by looking through the grid at the paper and marking the points at the same references e.g. C4 etc.
• Similarly use it to draw from photographs. Simply place the VIEWFINDER on the print ( it is just bigger than a standard 6" x 4", that is 150 x 100mm, print ) - there is no need to mark your photograph !

By lightly marking a grid on the drawing paper a few key points may be noted on the photo and transferred to the drawing. The the rest of your work may be done freehand, guided by the key points. Instead of drawing a grid on the paper you may mark the points by looking through the viewfinder.

With the VIEWFINDER you may easily locate the Golden Mean as used by the old masters for good composition in paintings. There is no need for complex formulae or geometric constructions - just look through the VIEWFINDER !
